About Us

Hamilton Acorn Ltd was formed in 1990 by the merger of Hamilton's of London, originally founded in 1811 and Acorn Decorating Products of Norwich, who can trace its origin back to 1746. Today, Hamilton Acorn Ltd, with its unique heritage and over 250 years of experience, is one of the largest manufacturers of high quality paint brushes, rollers and decorating tools in the UK.

In 2001 the company was acquired by the Swedish company Anza, the third largest manufacturer of decorating products in Europe. The Anza paint applicator business has, in turn, been part of the Norwegian Group Jordan since 1979. In the professional market we have two highly respected and trusted brands - Hamilton and Acorn, each with an extensive product range serving the different needs of professional painters, decorators and builders. For the retail market we have a third brand - Anza. With products developed to make decorating easy, this is the perfect choice for any DIY consumers looking for the perfect solution.

All Hamilton, Acorn and Anza branded products are made to the most exacting standards. State of the art production units within our parent company help ensure we remain ahead of the market for both product design and quality. All products are distributed from our head office and distribution centre in Norfolk providing outstanding levels of service.

Naturally, we don't just think about us, we also do our best to consider everyone's future. We are independently audited for quality and the environment in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, and our policies are available on request. We carefully control our manufacturing process, from raw materials to final delivered products, and are certified in accordance with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
